Steve Jobs is the authorized self-titled biography book of Steve Jobs. The book was written at the request of Jobs by Walter Isaacson, a former executive at CNN and TIME who has written best-selling biographies of Benjamin Franklin and Albert Einstein.[1][2] Based on more than forty interviews with Jobs conducted over two years—in addition to interviews with more than one hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues— Isaacson was given unprecedented access to Jobs's life.[3] Jobs is said to have encouraged the people interviewed to speak honestly. Although Jobs cooperated with the book, he asked for no control over its content other than the book's cover, and waived the right to read it before it was published.[4] The book was released on October 24, 2011, by Simon there's a lot of subtleties you'll miss otherwise. The Zen Programmer isn't a trendy life-hacker book, and it's not filled with productivity secrets or quick tips to help programmers. It is a guidebook for programmers' lives. The Zen programmer helps removes the rat race element from life. To me, that means slowing down and reconsidering my priorities. It means looking at how much care I put into the stuff I create things, or even how I do mundane things like the chores. It helped me do my work better and reduced my stress. It made me less mad at external factors, and pulled me out of a really bad burnout. This will not just impact your work but your home life too. Everything trickles down, so if you can improve your work life, your family, friends, & significant others will notice. I've been reading this book in the morning before I begin working and it's a huge boon to my mood and how I handle situations. As an Engineer, this is completely indispensable. I will read it again for the very same reason.more.
HISTORY OF THE PRICING WARS IN NEWS ARTICLES, WITH SOURCINGThe Key Video Just after S. Job said that The prices will be the same. This is 1.55 minutes into the clip. Click on the small one to watch the videoclip on this page. Additional video link ( WSJ) ( Somewhat larger)  According to Wall Street Journal articles quot;d earlier here, Jobs had asked publishers to set their prices higher.  Walt Mossberg of the Wall St. Journal, knowing that Amazon would be offering the Kindle for i Pad app in Apple's store and that customers could decide to buy from Amazon instead, asked Jobs that day, in a video'd interview by Boomtown's Kara Swisher, why customers would pay Apple's book prices when they could buy at a considerably lower cost from Amazon.  Here's a transcribed excerpt from Benzinga.com ' In the video above, listen carefully to the Jan 27 conversation between The Wall Street Journal’s Walt Mossberg and Steve Jobs.  At one point Mossberg asks Steve Jobs about the price advantage (.99 @ Amazon vs .99 @ Apple’s i Books) that Kindle owners had enjoyed for certain Amazon.com ebook offerings.  Jobs tactfully corrects Mossberg. Mossberg: “[first part is inaudible] why should she buy a book for .99 on your device [i Pad] when she can buy one for .99 at Amazon [inaudible]?” Steve Jobs: “ Well, that won’t be the case.” Mossberg: “ You mean you [i Books] won’t be .99 or they [ Amazon] won’t be .99?” Steve Jobs: “ The prices will be the same.” ' Somewhat Machiavellian?  While people were wondering what Jobs meant and at least one online article optimistically wrote that Jobs apparently was willing to lower his prices to match Amazon's, Jobs was actually saying, though not explicitly, that either Amazon was not going to be able to sell them below anymore or that Amazon might not then be able to sell them at all if Amazon didn't agree to the higher price now that the.
