The USGA's conforming clubs list is updated every Monday morning. And when the site is actually up and running, it's a great source for finding pics of yet to be released (or even announced new clubs and the occasional actual prototype driver. Of course, for every Nike Vapor Fly we find, there are literal handfuls of drivers that you'll probably never see in stores. The USGA's list isn't just for big American OEMs. Small companies, Asian companies, and basically anyone else who ever might want their driver to be deemed tournament legal, can submit clubs to the USGA for a conformity check. Very often we share some of the bigger finds with you, but there's plenty more on the list from companies of all sizes, that we think you might find interesting. It's unfortunate that the USGA still uses black and white photography (it's purpose is to document, not necessarily to make anything look pretty but even without the benefit of color, there's some pretty cool stuff to be seen. Here's a sample of some of the driver heads that were approved this month. This week, we introduced a prototype utility iron on Tour for the major at Hoylake. Seriously, how good does this thing look? It was an immediate hit with our staff, as Phil Mickelson, Branden Grace, Ryo Ishikawa, Kristoffer Broberg and Thomas Bjorn were among those who tested them on the course at Royal Liverpool. Don’t worry, we’ll have more details for you in the coming weeks. Speaking of clubs that our Tour players will rely on this week, the new Mack Daddy 2 Tour Grind Wedges are in stores on Friday (7/18)! To learn more about these new wedges, take a look at our Tour Grind wedgeducation page.

You've got the XR 16 standard. * Above image from e Bay. Callaway has not yet shipped to retail. Authenticity cannot be verified. You've got the XR 16 Pro. You've got the most-intriguing XR 16 Sub- Zero. Finally, you've got the Long Drive XR 16 LD and all 5° of loft that it brings. It's a safe assumption that Callaway will continue the XR line as it's mostly entry-level driver priced in the vicinity of 0. Assuming all of these hit retail, and even if we exclude the LD model, these offerings would put Callaway's core driver lineup at a reasonably robust 5 models heading into 2016, which would bring the company even with Cobra.
